Neena's Home & School
In July 2001, God directed us to South India, and to a resident named Neena. Years ago, Neena and her late husband started a children's home and school. We were the first Caucasians to visit her facility, which is located in the heart of the sweltering, south-central region. The people in that vicinity live in round, thatched-roof huts, and their mode of transportation is bullock carts. I felt God impressing me to buy a vehicle for Neena since she had no car. God spoke to the heart of a wonderful, kind woman who donated enough money to purchase a new SUV which allowed Neena to retire the bullocks!
On the first night of our visit with Neena, I was appalled when all the children lay down on the ground to sleep! Insects, snakes and rodents are plentiful, and the children were completely unprotected! When we returned home, 'Trips' immediately set-out to raise funds to provide cots for the 60+ residents of Neena's home. Praise God for those who so freely gave! Money was also donated to build bathrooms and a kitchen, and to complete other unfinished construction projects. We are thankful for the generous people who give of their means to sponsor some of Neena's orphans.
